Two Chicago youths who stole a vehicle that crashed into a pickup truck, killing a 6-month-old baby while injuring three others, will only be charged with misdemeanors.
The two males, aged 14 and 17, will receive no charges for the tragic death of the baby, according to Fox 32 Chicago.
The crash occurred in the West Garfield Park neighborhood’s 4400 block of West Washington Boulevard on Sunday, April 16, at around 5:06 p.m.
Local resident Shawn Walker captured the horrific crash on surveillance.
The footage shows a pickup truck driving northbound on Kostner Avenue before a Hyundai Sonata suddenly smashes into it.
The stolen Hyundai Sonata, driven by the youths , was speeding down West Washington Road in Chicago before I sped through the intersection and collided with the truck.

Walker said he noticed the baby was not breathing and tried to perform CPR, Fox 32 Chicago reported.
“The baby wasn’t breathing, so we started doing CPR. My main thing was so we could get a pulse back into the baby,” he said.
The baby, Cristian Uvidia, who was only six months old, tragically died from his injuries while at the hospital.
“He suffered from an impact that fractured his skull, causing his brain to swell and eventually killing him,” Annelisse Rivera wrote, The New York Post reported.
“We are devastated, and we are broken. We will miss his sweet smile, as he was a joy to everyone that he met.”
The other three victims, a 34-year-old woman and two girls aged 15 and 7, were treated for injuries.
Rivera called the misdemeanors against the Chicago youths who caused the death of the baby “disheartening,” according to Fox 32 Chicago.
“Your however-minutes-long joyride ruined our life completely,” she said.
