The New York Post trolled actor Robert De Niro with a morning cover mocking his rambling anti-Trump press conference this week.
Earlier this week, De Niro appeared on Joe Biden‘s campaign behalf and was joined by former Capitol Police officers Harry Dunn and Michael Fanone.
Dunn, whose account of the January 6th, 2021 riots was called into question after he claimed rioters yelled racial slurs, lost very badly in the Maryland 3rd congressional district Democratic primary election earlier this month.
“Do we want him running this country,” the actor said in his remarks.
“And saying, ‘I’m not leaving, I’m dictator for life’?”
The Post’s cover referenced De Niro’s turn in the 1980 film “Raging Bull” with the headline “RAGING BULLSH*T.”

The sub-headline below invoked psychotic “Simpsons” character Sideshow Bob: “Sideshow Bob De Niro goes ballistic stumping for Biden outside Trump trial,” The Daily Wire reported.
The cover accompanied Trump’s response to De Niro’s ramblings.
“I never knew how small, both mentally and physically, Wacko Former Actor Robert De Niro was,” Trump said in a Truth Social post.
“Today, De Niro, who suffers from an incurable case of TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, commonly known in the medical community as TDS, was met, outside the Courthouse, with a force far greater than the Radical Left – MAGA.”
Meanwhile, Republican strategist Karl Rove argued that having a campaign surrogate to Trump’s Manhattan trial, the Biden campaign was essentially admitting the prosecution was politically motivated.
“Stupid mistake by the Biden campaign!” Rove began
“They wanted to get, while all the cameras were there, they wanted to get their moment in the sun. And it was a big mistake,” Rove said.
“It politicized the trial — better to have waited.”
“And then what was said, with all due respect to Mr. De Niro, who’s a wonderful, wonderful actor,” he continued.
“Are those the kind of credible statements that are going to cause people who don’t like Biden and don’t like Trump, but are trying to figure out who to vote for, are they going to cause people to say, ‘Well, geez, you now told me you wanted to destroy our country?”
“Of course he did.’ The people who believe that are already in the Biden camp,” Rove continued.
