Kari Lake weighed in on the Republican presidential primary debate on Wednesday, highlighting how former president Donald Trump overshadowed the event by simply not attending.
Lake argued that the debates without Trump would hit ratings.
She was right.
“It’s kind of like the kids’ table at Thanksgiving,” Lake said.
“They’re going to be over there, throwing food and spilling stuff and causing trouble, but no one’s really going to be paying attention, I think, to this debate.”
“I think people are going to be watching Trump and Tucker,” Kari Lake said, suggesting the debate would be a dud.
“We have the Babe Ruth; why are we going to have a bunch of tee-ball players running? And so I think most people realize it’s a futile effort, it’s stupid, it would actually hurt America to run against President Trump,” Lake added.

Trump said that “sparks will fly,” announcing that his interview would air simultaneously as candidates took to the stage.
“It’s debate night, but we’re not in Milwaukee,” Carlson began in the interview, asking why he skipped the debate.
