A much loved Korean actor, Kim Mi-soo, who starred in the Disney Plus series Snowdrop, has died unexpectedly at the age of 29.
The actor’s agency, Landscape, announced her death in a statement, but no cause of death was disclosed.
“Kim suddenly left us on Jan 5,” said the statement.”
“The bereaved are deep in their sorrow at the sudden sadness.”
“Please refrain from reporting false rumours or speculation so that the family can mourn in peace.”

The statement has been translated from Korean, obtained via Variety.
Kim was best known for her roles as the student and activist Yeo Jung-min in the South Korean TV series Snowdrop.
Her character shared a women’s dorm room with Eun Young-ro, played by K-pop singer Jisoo.
The drama, which was set around the 1987 pro-democracy movement, sparked controversy over its historical accuracy and depiction of North Korean people.
A petition to stop the program from airing gathered over 300,000 signatures.
NBC News reported that “Snowdrop” was produced by JTBC Studios and Drama House and plays on JTBC’s network in Korea. In the rest of the world, it is presented as a Disney+ original.
Some sponsors have asked to terminate their deals with the production company following the backlash against the series.
Kim’s other credits include Hi Bye, Mama!, Into the Ring, The School Nurse Files, Lipstick Revolution and Kyungmi’s World.
