Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson called out liberal leaders and policies in Canada this week, even challenging CBC to interview him “backstage.”
Last week, Tucker prank called Canada’s press office, asking them to inform Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that the United States was “coming to liberate Canada.”
The former Fox News host slammed Trudeau and Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland’s “high self-esteem,” to the applause of the crowd, as he knew Freeland when he worked for the Financial Times.
Carlson said of Freeland:
“Her self-esteem was literally unassailed. Like it was bomb-proof. If a nuclear bomb dropped on your town, you could hide beneath Chrystia Freeland’s self-esteem and live.”
Tucker continued:
“There’s like, nothing you could do to shake it. Nothing. No amount of evidence of her stupidity and wrong decisions and idiotic views could dissuade her from the core belief that she was awesome, and you were not.”
Tucker also challenged the Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC) to interview him and air it on television, which sparked cheers from the crowd.
“Wait, can I say one last thing? You said CBC is in the room. I would love to do an interview with CBC. Meet me backstage. I dare you to put it on TV,” Tucker said.

Tucker had previously slammed Trudeau’s government for its heavy-handed approach to its citizens questioning its policies.
“Why should we stand back and watch our biggest trading partner, the country with which we share the longest border — and actually a great country, I love Canada … Why should we let it become Cuba?” Carlson said.
Last April, Carlson said Trudeau’s Canada had become a dictatorship:
“Why don’t we liberate it?” Carlson said at the time.
“We’re spending all this money to liberate Ukraine from the Russians; why are we not sending an armed force north to liberate Canada from Trudeau? And I mean it.”
A petition to ban Carlson from Canada was launched last year, accusing him of being a dangerous “conspiracy theorist,” a “racist,” an “active supporter of Putin,” and a “hate monger.
The petition stated:
“Tucker Carlson does not share the moral and ethical values of Canadian citizens. In fact, he openly and blatantly attacks the core values that decent law-abiding citizens follow.”
“We believe that it is in the best interest of Canada that Tucker [Carlson] be denied entry into Canada as an undesirable person.”
