President Joe Biden lost his temper after Fox News reporter Peter Doocy questioned his cognitive abilities as he struggled to respond to the special counsel report, which concluded he suffers from poor memory.
Citing Special Counsel Robert Hur’s decision not to charge Biden with crimes over mishandling of classified documents because he is a “well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” Doccy asked the president:
“Just how good is your memory, and can you continue as President?”
The question appeared to anger Biden, who shot back at the reporter.
“My memory is so bad that I let you speak,” Biden snapped.

Doocy recounted the exchange with anchor Jesse Watters, noting how Biden failed to take the question seriously.
“I was asking him if his memory is so bad that he has to step down as president,” Doccy said.
“That is a very straightforward, but hard and uncomfortable question, and so I wouldn’t expect him just to laugh if off.”
“It’s a serious thing. He needs to convince people that he can go another five years when there’s already 388 pages of a special counsel [report] saying he’s got serious lapses in his memory,” Doocy added.
“I wasn’t expecting him to go in there and just laugh it off,” he added.
Hur concluded in his report that Biden was not criminally liable for the lapse in national security because he worked with his staff and the Justice Department to return the classified documents when requested.
But the report emphasized the trouble investigators had while interviewing Biden, noting him being struggling or unable to remember basic details about his life, including the year his son Beau died and details of his time serving as Vice President.
Biden’s attorneys responded with a letter to Hur’s team demanding a retraction of many statements about Biden’s mental health, saying the report violated “well-established” norms and “trashing” the president.
Attorney Bob Bauer told the AP:
“The special counsel could not refrain from investigative excess, perhaps unsurprising given the intense pressures of the current political environment.”
“Whatever the impact of those pressures on the final report, it flouts department regulations and norms.”
The report came after Biden claimed he had a conversation with another dead world leader.
Biden claimed that he spoke recently with former German Chancellor Helmet Kohl regarding the events of January 6th, 2021, at the US Capitol.
During a fundraiser in New York on Wednesday, Biden said:
“And then Helmut Kohl turned to me and said, ‘What would you say, Mr. President, if you picked up the London Times and learned that 1,000 people had broken down the doors of the British parliament, killed some bobbies on the way in, to deny the prime minister to take office.”
Helmet Kohl, who was the German chancellor between 1984 to 1989, died in 2017.
Earlier this week, Biden told a crowd in Las Vegas about speaking with French President Francois Mitterrand in 2021, despite him being dead since 1996.
