Robert F. Kennedy Jr (RFK) said he was flattered by President Donald Trump praising him as a “common-sense guy” while refusing to fall into media traps and criticize the leading Republican presidential candidate.
Asked by moderator Elizabeth Vargas what he thought about Trump, Kennedy said: “I’m not going to attack other people personally.”
RFK Jr then expressed the pride he received positive affirmations recently from Trump, referring to the former President in the present tense.
“I’m proud that President Trump likes me,” he said.

Trump defended Kennedy in an appearance this week on “The Howie Carr Show.”
“Just hang in,” Trump advised Kennedy.
“He’s been very nice to me; I’ve actually had a very nice relationship with him over the years. He’s a very smart guy and a good guy.”
“He’s a common sense guy, and so am I. So, whether you’re conservative or liberal, common sense is common sense,” he added.
Kennedy’s remarks show his appeal to both Republicans and Democrats.
RFK Jr also declined to commit to supporting President Biden if he loses the Democratic primary to the President.
But he later said he “liked” the President, who he has known for decades.
“We’ve got to stop hating on each other,” he said.
However, some Democrats are concerned that Kennedy could run independently and pull votes from Biden and help Trump.
In May, political consultant and former Clinton advisor Dick Morris said RFK Jr is splintering his party and boosting Trump as the 2024 presidential election draws closer.
Morris said the “divide-and-conquer” strategy, a method the Democrats have used to sow division and race hate, could be used to disrupt and shatter the party, giving Trump a clear way o the White House.
“And I think that there are, there is a tremendous politics here: a fusion of the left and the right. And Bobby Kennedy, I think, is opening the door to it. And I think Donald Trump could walk through,” Morris said
As The Daily Fetched reported earlier this month, Biden looks increasingly likely to lose at least the first two primaries to RFK Jr in 2024, despite it being a certainty the President will be the Democratic nominee.
According to Axios, the scenario would be “if they’re in the traditional first-to-vote states of Iowa and New Hampshire.”
The Conservative Brief notes that the Biden campaign announced that they wouldn’t put his name on the ballot in either of those states if they have their primaries before South Carolina.
Axios reported further:
“Democrats in Iowa and New Hampshire could defy Biden and move ahead with their contests — even as the party warns it will strip them of their national convention delegates if they jump the gun.”
